Windsurfing, sailing, canoeing – our RYA recognised school and modern hire fleet have made Croft Farm well-known for watersports since we opened in 1985.
Our lake is an ideal size for teaching – not so big as to intimidate children, but still large enough to provide enjoyment on windy days for the more experienced sailor or windsurfer. There is easy launching and recovery from all sides and the wind is good from most directions.

We have spacious on-shore facilities dedicated to the watersports enthusiast, with decent changing rooms, toilets and showers together with a dry teaching area. During the main teaching season we serve hot and cold meals in our new log cabin clubhouse. Complete with fully licensed bar this building is available to hire for private functions and corporate events.
We are a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre for windsurfing, sailing and power boating, offering courses for adults and juniors. We also offer kayaking, canoeing and raft building together with some land based activities. We can teach on an individual basis, in family groups and also have considerable experience in teaching larger organisations. We now offer a fully catered package of activities for a weekend or longer with accommodation provided in ready erected tents.
As a RYA training centre and an AALA recognised school, we are assessed annually to ensure that the facilities, equipment and instruction meet the required standards.
Our school is open every day during the teaching season, including evenings and weekends. We actively encourage you to take lessons; our courses represent very good value for money, with the confidence of knowing you are being taught by a qualified instructor in a safe environment.
